What size solar water heater does a villa need?

Our water is hard, so does that affect the heater?
Yes. Water high in dissolved salts increases scale inside the tank and pipework, which reduces heating efficiency over time. The remedy is decided once the water source is known, through suitable in-system protection and a shorter service interval.
Does a solar water heater work in winter?
It works, but output falls with shorter days and cloud cover. That is why a correct residential design includes an auxiliary heater that engages automatically when needed, so the household never notices the difference.
