Hot water planned for your busiest times

Equip your home with hot water for bathrooms and kitchen use. Aurora compares storage heaters, instantaneous heaters and heat pumps against simultaneous demand and site provisions. One team handles selection, installation, commissioning and support.

A storage heater holds hot water ready and reheats during and after use. An instantaneous heater heats water as it flows through. Comparing them requires flow and simultaneous outlet use; a tank alone does not guarantee a stable temperature at any demand.

Available storage water-heater brands include Bradford, Rheem, Ariston, A.O. Smith and Americana. Instantaneous models include 16 L and 20 L ratings. These refer to flow rather than tank volume and must be read alongside the model’s specified temperature rise and rating conditions.

If you also need room heating, establish that at the start. Domestic hot water and space-heating circuits serve different purposes; not every appliance called a boiler serves both. We check the model, system configuration and loads before connecting radiators or underfloor heating.

An auxiliary heat source can work with solar when the appliances, connections and controls are compatible. A single-source system may also suit the property. We compare configurations against demand, available energy and space rather than assuming every home needs two appliances.

Common questions about boilers and water heaters

Storage boiler or instant heater?

Compare simultaneous flow, available space and use patterns. For storage, review tank volume and recovery output; for instantaneous heating, review flow at the required temperature rise. The same bathroom count can require different equipment depending on shower demand and duration.

Can a gas boiler work alongside a solar system?

Yes, in suitable configurations, after checking compatibility with preheated water and the connection and control arrangement. Backup supplies additional heat when needed; the solar contribution varies with the site, season and consumption.

Which brands does Aurora supply?

Available brands include Bradford, Rheem, Ariston, A.O. Smith and Americana. Compare specific models by capacity, output, installation requirements and warranty rather than by brand name alone.

What does installation involve beyond connecting the unit?

We review the equipment load on its support, pipe routes and insulation, plus gas, flue and ventilation provisions where applicable. The quote should identify included preparations, commissioning and any additional site work.

How important is scheduled maintenance?

Follow the model instructions and operating conditions. A qualified technician checks combustion, flue and connections on gas appliances; storage units also have tank and protective-component requirements. Investigate changed performance before deciding to increase capacity or replace the unit.
