What kills pool heaters is not use — it is corrosion. Chlorine, and in saltwater pools salt as well, eat through an ordinary exchanger until it leaks. A titanium exchanger solves that at the root: its corrosion resistance is very high, so it lasts far longer in the same water and the same chemistry.

When it is the wrong choice

It costs more to run than a heat pump. If your pool only runs in the warm season and your priority is the lowest possible bill, the heat pump will usually save you more over time. And if your location has no natural gas, the maths shifts toward the heat pump too. We will tell you that at the survey even when it points to the cheaper product.

Why titanium specifically

Exchangers made from ordinary metals corrode in the presence of chlorine and salt, and that corrosion does not stop — it progresses until it leaks, and then the whole exchanger is replaced. Titanium’s resistance under these conditions is very high, which in practice means paying a difference once instead of paying for a replacement every few years.

Why does the exchanger need to be titanium?

Pool water contains chlorine, and saltwater pools contain salt as well — both corrode ordinary exchangers over time. Titanium has very high corrosion resistance, so it lasts far longer under the same conditions.

How fast does it heat the pool?

Heat-up time depends on pool volume, current water temperature, the required rise and the heater’s output. That is why we do not quote a fixed number — we calculate it for your pool at the survey and give you the expected time.

Does it work with a saltwater pool?

Yes, and that is its key advantage. The titanium exchanger is built to withstand salt water and chlorine without rapid corrosion — unlike standard exchangers, whose life is cut short in these conditions.

I already have a boiler — can it feed the pool?

In some cases yes, and it is the most economical route because you reuse an existing heat source. It depends on whether the boiler can carry the pool load alongside hot water and heating. We work that out at the survey, and if it cannot carry it we tell you straight.

Is it hard to maintain?

The exchanger itself is corrosion-resistant so it needs little intervention, but any pool system needs regular attention to water chemistry and the filtration loop. Is it faster than a heat pump?

Yes at reaching temperature, and it keeps working efficiently as the air cools — unlike a [heat pump](/en/products/pool-heat-pump), whose efficiency drops in cold. The trade-off is a higher running cost. The choice comes down to your priority: speed and a longer season, or the lowest running bill.

How do I know the right output?

Output is set by water volume, pool surface area, your target temperature and whether the pool is open to the air (which loses more heat). The survey measures all of it and produces the right output — so you do not pay for more capacity than you need.
